It does not however stand up very well on its own feet. I'm assuming that it did back in the day when it was wound up and functioning properly. The wind up feature still works although it is not consistent in its function. I'm sure someone experienced with these type toys probably could make adjustments etc. to correct this issue. I'm sure the standing up and the walking mechanical function are related and simply out of adjustment etc. I can see why later models of this toy had wider "duck feet" in order for them to stand up and walk. The paint and over all condition of this toy is in excellent condition for its age as seen in the photos. Thanks for looking.............
