Vintage Mechanical Black Seal with Ball - No Key - 1950s??? T his adorable little seal has been in my family a LONG time. I can remember wanting to play with him as a little kid in the late 1950s. My dad wouldn't let us touch him. Last time I wound him up (before I moved and lost the key) was about eight years ago. He worked. He walked forward (more like waddled) and the ball spun on his nose. I cannot guarantee that he will still work. He uses a standard square toy key but I can't find one. (I used to have a couple but moving really screwed me over.) His little scarf (bow) has unraveled ends. He has a couple scuff spots (balding?) in his felt exterior. There's a tear on the bottom under his right front leg. Partial tag still attached on his underside near the wind up spot. Considering he's at least 70 years old and possibly even older than that, he's in great shape. He's been sitting on top of my piano FOREVER. I'm trying to find new homes for things because I'm sure when I'm gone someone will come along and toss everything into a dumpster. Thanks for looking!
