Mechanical Toy The following listing is for a Vintage Mechanical Roaring Lion with Original Key and Works Maker: Line Mar Toys, Japan. Marked: The sticker with id is no-longer on the bottom of the lion. Material: Plush over metal, metal key and nose. Eyes are possibly glass and inside mouth is painted paper-mache. Rabbit fur mane and end of tail. Features: The following Mechanical Roaring Lion has it's original label and has an appropriate key. His plush body and mane is intact for the most part except for tail and possibly a little gone from mane. His metal mouth is paint pink with white teeth. Eyes could be glass but I can't tell for certain. He is still clean and colors bright. When key is wound, he opens and closes his mouth with a mechanical sound (I wouldn't quite call it a roar). What a wonderful gift for your loved one or self! Size: 5.5 inches - 14 cm in height. All measurements are approximate. Age: 1950-60s approximately. Condition: Condition is subjective and although the lion has most likely spent most of his life displayed, perfection is rare. This is how I purchased this mechanical Lion (see photographs). Used though still clean and well cared for. Left front foot base has opening where fabric would be secured together (not sure if lion came like this from factory) more than right foot and wire showing through plush fabric. Plush is patchy in places (mostly on base) and there are marks or scratches on metal tongue. This wonderful Mechanical Roaring Lion has possibly less rabbit fur mane on head but may have come like this from the factory. Some fur missing off tail. Works but does not totally unwind, unwinding manually gently at this time will cause him to continue the movements. Has appropriate unmarked key. Has original label. I may not have caught everything so please rely on pictures as part of description.
